The Sabre’s season ended this weekend with a tough defeat to a strong Glasgow Tigers team, losing 6-0.
In a game which neither team particularly dominated, the Sabres offence were unable to score against an excellent Tigers defensive unit who have conceded only 12 points all season.
The Sabres defence played brilliantly in a tight game holding Glasgow to several punts, and gave up only one touchdown. Defensive backs Nick Carver and Liam Pratt had an interception each, with Liam also blocking a PAT.
On offence there were several productive drives, but were stopped in the red zone twice. An end zone interception by Glasgow’s D in the third quarter and a turnover on downs in the fourth were enough to win the game.
All eyes now turn to Varsity on the 17th April against the recently relegated Sheffield Hallam Warriors.
