After a short kick return and a punt on Sabres first possession, Hallam took the field driving the ball consistently down the field resulting in a rushing touchdown. On their second offensive possession, the Sabres fail to get going and Hallam score another rushing touchdown once they regain the ball. Sabres defence step up their aggression and stop Hallam on the following two drives, the second of which ended with a pick by free safety and fourth captain Liam Pratt. The second quarter saw punts traded and a shut out on 4th down by the Sabres defence, but on what looked to be a sack for a big loss of yards, Hallam’s QB managed to keep his feet and find his receiver deep downfield putting them deep into Sabres territory. This put them In perfect position to score their first passing touchdown of the day to end the half 0-21.

Hallam opened the second half with a rushing and a passing touchdown, converting both PAT attempts to put them up by 35 points. The Sabres respond with two passing touchdowns of their own to put the score at 14-35. A late hit out of bounds on QB James Wege resulting in a dislocated knee allowed Ben Hughes to get on the field after an onside kick is recovered by kicker Rowan Huggins. Ben’s first drive brought the Sabres to the 1 yard line which was unfortunately stopped inches short on 4th down. Rotation allowed some Sabre rookies to get their first taste of Steel City rivalry, but unfortunately the closing minutes saw two more deep passing touchdown receptions from Hallam’s starting receivers. Final score 14-49 Hallam.
