The Sabres suffered a heavy defeat away to the UCLan Rams, in a game that was rearranged after being postponed in December. The Sabres took a depleted squad to Lancashire due to exams, and the lack of depth took its toll the longer the game went on. UCLan scored early and converted a PAT to take a 7-0 lead. In a game hampered by wet weather the Sabres played well on offence, defence and special teams to get the much needed win and take their record to 2-2. The Sheffield Sabres suffered a heart-breaking overtime defeat away at Leeds Beckett Carnegie this Sunday, having lead for most of the game. The game ended 28-28 before Carnegie won the game in overtime.
The game started with a three and out for the Sabres offence, but cornerback Tom Henshaw intercepted a Carnegie pass to return the ball to the offence. The Sabres got on the scoreboard with a 22 yard touchdown pass to receiver Dan Rosson, who caught another pass on the two point conversion
