Following a successful recruitment drive and (good) preparation, the Sabres travelled to Nottingham Uni for their first preseason scrimmage, giving both players and coaches an opportunity to showcase their talent.

First off is #54 Usama Mujtaba (Middle Linebacker) entering his third season as Sabres’ captain. Although enrolled in a work placement for the duration of this year, his presence is well and truly known. Sabres @ Hawks Review

The Sheffield Sabres improved their record to 4-4 and kept their playoff hopes alive with an emphatic victory over the Huddersfield Hawks, whose losing streak extended to seven games for the season. A steady first drive for the Sabres ended with six points as Jacob Hardy found Dan Rosson in the end zone following a pass interference penalty on the Hawks. After punts were traded a Huddersfield pass down the side-line was caught and converted for a 70 yard touchdown levelling the game at 6-6.<br

Match preview: UCLAN Rams


Sabres will look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat at Leeds Beckett as they face BUCS Northern Division 1 leaders UCLAN Rams. The two teams met earlier in the season with UCLAN edging past the Sabres in a close fought game. Since that match they have enjoyed conflicting fortunes, the Sabres have won one game and lost the other. The Rams however will be full of confidence having won all their three games this season and come off the back of beating the Hull Sharks.
